 Who we are
MIRS – Managed Innovations For Rural Sustainability is an indigenous Zimbabwean Private Voluntary Organization. MIRS was conceived in 2016 and was only officially registered in August of 2020. The organization seeks to work with communities around Zimbabwe in emergency, humanitarian, and community development work. MIRS has been and will focus on climate change and drought mitigation strategies, natural resource management, environmental protection, and working with communities on a holistic package for diversified and integrated livelihood activities. MIRS’ work is already visible in Masvingo, Chivi, and Chiredzi District as partnerships have emerged with other PVOs, private individuals, and government stakeholders. MIRS will retain an executive Board, a directorship, and lean project work based structure. MIRS will work with selected underprivileged communities. MIRS is non-profit and will engage in fundraising from grants, private companies, consultancy, individuals, and other sources. MIRS welcomes partnerships. The structure at MIRS has vast hands on experience and a well qualified to take the organization to greater heights. Qualifications range from development, accounting, auditing, leadership, environmental and others. MIRS is a revolutionary and ambitious project.

MIRS aims to eliminate poverty through customized solutions that promotes a holistic approach in addressing climatic and environmental related shocks.

Goals

1. To provide sustainable climate change and drought mitigation strategies for communities in Zimbabwe.

2. To facilitate income generation projects for youths and women.

3. To capacitate rural communities on sustainable environmental and natural resource management for food security and resilience building.

2. Working on M.O.U with the Environmental Agency(Masvingo and Chiredzi District).
3. M.O.U with Aquaculture Zimbabwe.
